Sunny Australia. Sunny Australia with clear blue skies and heat that I thought use to stink, but now I reckon is like the womb I never want to leave. What changed my mind? Hokkaido did.
It was beautiful. An eye-opener in terms of flavours for ice cream (camembert cheese and seaweed amongst the ones I tasted). The people were nice. The toilets were eerily clean and heralded the future. Even the hot springs, which felt very much like old-people-soup, were amazing. But I guess this body was just not built of the bone splitting cold.
Cold is hell.
But snow is awesome.
My only complaint now is that it doesn’t snow here (but then it wouldn’t be so beautifully warm, would it? Why can’t I have my cake and eat it too?). If it did, it would be the shapeable variety because here’s so close to the sea. It was difficult trying to make things in Asahikawa because the snow was oh so soft, so floppable, but so unwilling to clump together. Snow became more awesome when we got to Hakodate.
Here is one of my creations. I call it – Chameleonzilla!!!

What about other pictures, you ask? What about the snow fields and forests and bears and volcanoes? Sadly, I'm not usually one with a camera in my hand. I'm usually the mouth-agape-stumbling-dumbfounded type.
On the way back to Hervey Bizzle, the pilot overshot the airport and did the incredible loop (on purpose, I wager) around the bay. And on this occasion, I did have my Device on hand (because I was listening to music). Here it a picture that doesn’t do the actual scene any justice (another reason why I don't take photos):

See my townhouse? It's amongst those white specks somewhere! :)
